United Activities Unlimited (UAU) at IS 72 offers after school and summer programming for students in grades 6-8. Our programming focuses on STEM, Leadership, Literacy, Social Emotional Learning, Recreation and much more! All of our programs and activities are at no cost to participants and their families.
COMPASS NYC’s (Comprehensive After School System NYC) middle school model, also known as SONYC, is an after-school program that serves as a pathway to success for youth in 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Structured like clubs, the model offers young people a choice in how they spend their time; provides rigorous instruction in sports and arts; and requires youth leadership through service.
The COMPASS/SONYC programs are made possible through funding provided by the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD). UAU COMPASS/SONYC Programs provide activities in the areas of academic enhancement, leadership skills, social and emotional learning, career awareness, recreation and health, culture and arts, civic engagement, and life skills.
